The Ferrari 330 was a series of Ferrari models that came after the Ferrari 250 series. The Ferrari 330 series was manufactured from 1963 until 1968. There are five variations of the Ferrari 330 including the 330 GT 2+2, the 330 America, the 330 GTC/GTS, the 330 LMB, and the 330 P. Of these five variations, only the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was truly unique since the remainder of the variations shared the chassis or even most of the body with other Ferrari models. |

The Ferrari 330 America was the first of the series to be produced by Ferrari, making its debut in 1963. The 330 America was little more than a Ferrari 250 GT with a larger engine. Only 50 Ferrari 330 Americas were built and it was succeeded in 1964 by the 330 GT 2+2.

Ferrari replaced two cars with the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 in 1964: the 330 America and the 250 GT 2+2. The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was similar to the 250 2+2 but had a 50 mm stretched wheel base, wider grill, quad headlights, and a sharper nose and tail. The 330 GT 2+2 also incorporated front and rear Dunlop disc brakes that incorporated a unique dual-circuit design that separated braking from the back and front. Most modern automobiles with similar braking systems separate the braking in a diagonal pattern. |

In 1965, the 330 GT 2+2 was released that replaced the four-speed overdrive system used on the ’64 model with a five speed transmission. These 330 GT 2+2 “Series II” cars also added the option of power steering and air conditioning, which weren’t available in previous models. The Series II 330GT 2+2’s also went back to the alloy wheels and dual-light front clips used in previous models. Between the 1964 330 GT 2+2 and the introduction of the “Series II” in 1965, Ferrari produced 125 330 GTs that are considered to be “interim cars.” These 330s had the five speed transmissions found in the Series IIs but kept the four headlights that adorned the 1964 330 GT 2+2s. Ferrari produced a total of 1,088 330 GT 2+2s from 1964 to 1967. 503 Series I cars, 125 interim cars, and 460 Series II cars were manufactured.

About 700 330 GTCs and GTS’s were manufactured from 1966 to 1968. These shared the same wheelbase and independent suspension as the Ferrari 275s and were two-seaters. They were designed by Pininfarina and the 330 GTC was designated “Berlinetta” while the 330 GTS was the “Spyder” edition. |

Only three Ferrari 330 LMBs and four Ferrari 330 Ps were produced. The 330 LMPs were simply Ferrari 250 GTOs that featured the 330 engine. The 330 Ps were nothing short of racing cars that were mid-engined modified and carried the designations of 330 P, 330 P2, 330 P3, and 330 P4. |

All of the Ferrari 330s used a variation of the 4.0 liter Colombo V12 engine used in the 400 Superamericas. They were drastically re-engineered, however, with a true alternator and wider bore spacing. |
